TV TIMES ANNOUNCED FOR 2008 KRAFT NABISCO CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

February 13th, 2008 | RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF. - The Kraft Nabisco Championship, the first major tournament of the year on the LPGA Tour, has announced its television broadcast schedule for this year's event. The Kraft Nabisco Championship will be held for the 37th year at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., from Monday, March 31, through Sunday, April 6. Championship play begins Thursday, April 3, and runs through April 6.

All four rounds will be aired live. The first two rounds of the LPGA tournament will air on ESPN2 on Thursday and Friday, April 3 and 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (EST). The Saturday, April 5, broadcast will air during prime time on the East Coast from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (EST). Sunday's final round will air for three hours on CBS Sports from 3 to 6 p.m. (EST).

The on-air talent for the broadcast includes Terry Gannon, Judy Rankin, Andy North, Jane Crafter and Charlie Rymer for ESPN2, and Verne Lundquist, Judy Rankin, Beth Daniel, Jane Crafter and Charlie Rymer for CBS Sports.

"We are very excited about our broadcast times for this year," said Terry Wilcox, Kraft Nabisco Championship tournament director. "We are particularly happy about the three-hour broadcast on Sunday, which is one of the longest network broadcasts of the year for the LPGA Tour, as well as our time slot on Saturday evening. The tournament should also benefit from CBS Sports' coverage of the NCAA Final Four basketball semi-finals on Saturday afternoon and the finals on Monday."

This year's Kraft Nabisco Championship will feature an elite field of more than 100 of the best players in women's professional and amateur golf - including 19-year-old defending champion Morgan Pressel, the #1 ranked woman golfer in the world, Lorena Ochoa, and Annika Sorenstam, who hopes to regain the #1 spot this year after suffering a debilitating back injury in 2007.
