In 1996, Fernandez shined in Team USA's 3-1 gold medal victory over China, recording the final three outs to earn a save and secure the Gold Medal. In 2000, Fernandez pitched the gold medal game against Japan getting the win with a 2-1 victory for a second gold medal for the USA. Dorothy Hamill 19-year-old figure skater DOROTHY HAMILL won her gold medal at the 1976 Winter Games in Innsbruck, Austria, transcending the sport and capturing the world's imagination.
